Sara Grey’s world shattered ten years ago when her father was brutally murdered. Now at seventeen, she is still haunted by memories of that day and driven by the need to understand why it happened. She lives a life full of secrets and her family and friends have no idea of the supernatural world she is immersed in or of Sara’s own very powerful gift.
In her quest for answers about her father’s death, Sara takes risks that expose her and her friends to danger and puts herself into the sights of a sadistic vampire. On the same fateful night she meets Nikolas, a warrior who turns Sara’s world upside down and is determined to protect her even if it’s the last thing she wants.
Sara’s life starts to spin out of control as she is hunted by an obsessed vampire, learns that her friends have secrets of their own and reels from the truth about her own ancestry. Sara has always been fiercely independent but in order to survive now she must open herself to others, to reveal her deepest secrets. And she must learn to trust the one person capable of breaking down the walls around her.
To keep the people she loves safe, Sara left everything she knew behind. She soon learns this new world is nothing like her old one, and she struggles to make a place for herself among the Mohiri. But it soon becomes apparent to Sara and to everyone one around her that she is not your typical warrior.
As the weeks pass, Sara builds new relationships, copes with her new trainers, and tries to manage her ever-changing powers, while keeping her unique heritage a secret. Looming in the background is the constant shadow of the Master who will do anything to find her.
Sara finds herself on a journey of self-discovery that uncovers her true strengths and awakens a part of her she never knew existed. She experiences the delight of new friendships, the sweetness and pain of first love, and a loss so deep it could be the thing that finally breaks her. At the end of it all, she discovers that the one place she was supposed to be safe might not be the refuge she thought it was.
Sara Grey is done hiding and done being afraid. The Master thinks he has her running scared, but she’s taking matters into her own hands and taking her life back. With the help of her friends, she sets out to find the one person who can answer her questions about her past, and who may be able to lead them to the Master.
On her journey, Sara faces new challenges and dangers, and learns that the world of good and evil is not as clear cut as she had believed. She makes new friends, unexpected allies, and reconnects with people from her past. As her powers continue to change and grow, she transforms from a struggling girl into a strong young warrior.
But at what cost? How much is Sara willing to sacrifice in her need for independence and her quest for the truth? And will her newfound strength be enough to save her and the people she loves when she finally comes face-to-face with her powerful nemesis? Nothing could have prepared her for what is to come, and it will take everything in her to survive the final test of courage and love.
The warrior has finally met his match.
Nikolas Danshov is the Mohiri’s finest warrior, fearless and lethal with any weapon. For almost two hundred years, he has devoted his life to keeping humans safe from the demons that walk the earth. Revered by his people, he is a legend in his own time, a warrior undefeated in battle, and prepared for anything. Until her.
On a routine job in Maine, a twist of fate brings Nikolas face-to-face with the one person he had never expected to meet – his mate. Sara Grey is unlike anyone he’s ever met. Beautiful and fiery, she ignites his desire, while her innocence and vulnerability awaken a fierce protectiveness in him. Now all he can think of is keeping his mate safe from the dangers that hunt her, even if she fights him at every turn.
You know Sara’s story. Now read it again, through the eyes of her warrior.

Excerpt from Relentless
My walls fell. I was vaguely aware of something cold and slimy burrowing inside me like a parasite. The Mori shrieked in agony. Choking, dying, the Mori was dying. I’d always hated the dark thing that had been a part of me my whole life. I should be happy now that the beast would be no more. Instead, sadness bloomed in my chest and tears of grief welled in my eyes.
Coldness reached down, inching toward the center of my being. It came up against my last defense, the gate that held back the wellspring of my power. “Let meee innn,” it commanded as icy fingers pulled at the barrier in vain. I did as it asked, and I felt its triumph as it punched through and touched the essence of me.
Someone began to scream.
I was on fire. No, I was the fire. Roaring, raging, I was an angry volcano spewing molten rock up from deep within the earth. The lava scorched everything in its path with a cleansing fire that burned away the coldness and filth and bore down on the ugly thing pulsing in my mind. I felt a flash of terror that was not my own, and then the pressure in my head was gone.
My eyes opened to see the witch—I knew what he was now—stagger and fall to his knees. His eyes no longer glowed white, and his face had paled to a dark gray. “What… are you?” he choked, his black eyes full of shock and fear.
Excerpt #1 from Refuge (Book 2)
Jordan let out a burst of laughter. “As much as I wish Nikolas would want to come running to my rescue –not that I need any man to rescue me –it will never happen. You didn’t see his face when he saw you getting attacked. I’ve never seen anyone move that fast.”
“I wish someone would tell Nikolas and Tristan I don’t need a man to protect me,” I grumbled.
“Males are just wired that way,” Jordan explained through a mouthful of food. “You’re tough but you have this whole vulnerable look going on that gets their testosterone in a twist. Of course, I’m pretty sure it’s more than that with Nikolas after seeing him downstairs. When you were standing there all wet and he moved in front of you –the look he gave those other guys . . . brrrrr. He did everything but pee a circle around you to mark his territory.”
“That is totally absurd. And thanks for that disgusting visual by the way.”
She gave me a long searching stare. “You simply cannot be that clueless. Anyone with eyes can see the sparks between you two.”
Excerpt from Rogue (Book 3)
I closed my eyes. How could one word wreak so much havoc on my emotions, and yet fill me with a sense of peace at the same time?
“Sara? Will you talk to me tonight?”
I listened to him breathe, wanting more than anything to talk to him. The longer we were apart, the harder it was to be away from him. But I was afraid
once we started talking, he’d convince me to tell him where I was. A tear leaked out from beneath my closed lid. I miss you.
Excerpt #2 from Rogue (Book 3)
He spoke gruffly in my ear. “I did not chase you halfway across the country to let you leave me again. You are one of the strongest, most stubborn people I’ve ever met, and you are going to beat this. Do you hear me?” I didn’t reply and he asked more forcefully, “Do you hear me, Sara?”
“Yes,” I said through chattering teeth. I summoned the last of my strength, determined to never leave him again.

My smile faded when I looked back again to where he lingered near the door. My head drifted to the side to take him in as his expression shifted through a thousand emotions.
Regret. Sorrow. Lust.
And a longing that nearly brought me to my knees.
Desire trembled through my body.
I wanted to crawl inside him.
To discover every secret.
Even though I got the crushing feeling knowing him would be the end of me.
Cautiously, he edged forward.
The air filled up with him. So thick I wasn’t sure I could breathe.
Gently he wound his fingers through my hair. Not so gently he tugged my head back and pinned me with that stare. Slowly he dipped down, my stomach in a thousand blissful knots as he left a dizzying trail of kisses down my neck.
Soft, silken lips.
Little flicks of tongue.
Tingles spread in a wildfire of sensation.
Then his voice was at my ear. Whispering belief. “Blue.”
Blue. Blue. Blue.
She was so scared and unsure and innocently brave. Because she wanted all the things I’d learned the hard way the world didn’t have to give. But she wanted me to fight for them anyway.
Callused fingertips trailed down my sides, and I trembled when they edged under the hem of my shirt. Skin to skin.
“Is this okay?” he asked, his voice like gravel.
My answer scraped from my throat. “Yes.”
Lyrik pulled my tee over my head, slow but sure.
A cool rush of air sent a rush of chills skating free across the flames. My chest heaved as Lyrik stared down at me in my jeans and bra. Eating me up with that irresistible intensity.
I knew my eyes were wild as I looked up at him. My pulse hammered and my spirit thrashed.
“Blue,” he murmured again as he went down onto his knees. He peeked up at me every few seconds as he worked the bandage free from my side. My belly shook as he peeled the bandage away and exposed the statement that had been etched into my side over my ribs, from my hip bone to just under my arm pit on the left side. And I knew the area needed to be cleaned. But somehow right then, I didn’t care.
I just wanted him to see.
The four simple letters were written in a big, scrolling font, and swirls and flowers extended from the first and last letters.
Lightly, he drummed his fingertips over the design, not quite touching the raw skin.
His unyielding gaze latched onto mine. “I think you already have.”
For one night, I wanted it. I wanted her secrets. I wanted to sink my fingers in and take for myself. She was the exact kind of contradiction I craved.
The push and pull.
But this time the pull was too great to ignore.
I traced my thumbs along the delicate slope of her neck. Dragged them across the soft, soft skin. Her pulse was racing with a violent beat. I forced her to look at me while my entire body ran hot.
“Tell me what you want, Red.” It slipped out in a rough murmur.
In the distance, thunder rolled. Those blue eyes flashed. Flashed with courage and fear.
Something about it made me shake.
Almost defiantly, she lifted her chin, and she reached up with her small hands and grasped me around the wrists.
“I want you to kiss me.”
Leave it to Red to ask for the thing I didn’t want to give. Memories cut a path of panic through my consciousness. Reminding me of what I’d done. Of why I could never get too close.
Of where my loyalty truly lay.
Clenching my jaw, I gripped her tighter. My heart was giving its all to reject this. Screaming at me to wise up and to do it fast. To turn my back and walk away. No doubt, my feet had officially crossed into the forbidden zone. Out of bounds.
Red was trying to take me places I didn’t want to go.
On the inside, I struggled like a goddamned madman. Torn between lashing out like I’d done the last time she’d been tempting me with the need to sink inside her, to discover the countless secrets she had lying underneath, and gathering her up and letting her in on all of mine.
I was at an all-out war with my instincts. The f*cked-up thing was I didn’t even know what those were anymore.
Not when it came to her.
Wavering, I rocked forward in indecision then rocked back. Getting closer to those full red lips with each pass.
Her attention flitted over my face. They jumped from my eyes to my mouth and back again. She fisted my suit jacket.
“What do you want?” she demanded, turning the question on me. Her voice was a brazen, needy mix of the siren who had no issue with putting me in my place and the soft vulnerability that kept seeping through.
My tongue darted out and swept across my bottom lip.
Dying for a taste.
Figured she was going to kill me, anyway.

The Witchling Apprentice
by B. Kristin McMichael
Genre: YA Paranormal
Release Date: March 15th 2016
Lexia Press, LLC
Summary from Goodreads:
Witches, potions, and magical spells—that all made sense, but men turning into animal-like monsters in the middle of the night? That had to be fiction, right? Wrong. Cassandra Booth thought her world of witches would be complete when she joined her coven. Fate didn’t plan to let that be the case for her. Joining the coven brings new knowledge, like mates and men as animals, all things Cassie would rather not know. As her plans unravel she must find a way to join the coven without committing her life to a guy she once was friends with and now hates.
Tick … Tick … Tick …
Cassandra Booth tried to ignore the clock as it clicked away from above the desk beside her. It was nerve-wracking enough knowing that if you wanted to take the test to be an apprentice witch you had to do it in front of at least fifty people. However, the clock reminding her it was just about to start was driving her nuts.
Tick … Tick … Tick …
Cassie tried to go over each step of the potion she was making in her head. She needed to concentrate and ignore the noises around her as the room began to fill up with high schoolers.
Tick … Tick …
The sound was lost in the now-growing sound of students talking. Unfortunately, that wasn’t any better. She glanced up at the room in front of her. Mistake. It was almost half-full of people. No one was looking directly at her, but that didn’t make it any easier. Cassie was anxious enough sitting in the lecture area alone, on display, but now there were students who would be watching and talking about her.
Cassie kept her eyes locked on the table and all her supplies. Taking inventory was easy. Doing the actual potion and saying the spell correctly was supposed to be the hard part. No one in her high school, let alone grade, was even attempting to make the protection spell that had been assigned to her and which would move her from witchling up to the level of junior apprentice. Most people were shocked when she’d asked. It had been many years since a high school student had apprenticed, but that wasn’t going to stop Cassie. She was ready to get out of her boring classes. She was ready to join everyone in obtaining the great knowledge that came with being a full-time member of the coven. Cassie was ready to belong.
About the Author
Originally from Wisconsin, B. Kristin currently resides in Ohio with her husband, three small children, and three cats. When not doing the mom thing of chasing kids, baking cookies, and playing outside, she is using her PhD in biology as a scientist. In her free time she is currently hard at work on multiple novels. Every day is a new writing adventure. She is a fan of all YA/NA fantasy and science fiction.
Cassie Booth is a Witchling in training, one who’s ready to take on an apprenticeship, to become a full member of the Coven she’s been on the outside of her whole life. Only, she gets more than she bargained for. There’s so many secrets that she never realized she neither wanted nor needed to know.
Her best friend Whitney, her other best friend Owen, her Uncle, Than-the boy she’s liked for as long as she can remember…they all have secrets. Ones she needs to know in order to understand the mess she’s gotten herself into. Her family, the Coven, the Clan. they all have a plan, one where Cassie is key. All of which she upset by jumpstarting the regular order of things.
In a race against time-thanks to a time limit she’s just been made aware of-Cassie has to find out what’s going on and choose the path she plans to follow. But if the truth and the path are different than anyone anticipated, what then?
It all starts with a test. A proving of power.
The Witchling Apprentice is a real page turner. An up-all-night kind of read. Quite literally, in my case. A fabulous addition to the Night Human world, and a great read for those who haven’t read (or in my case, haven’t finished) the rest of the books set in this world. It introduces some new mythos, both in general, and to the Night Human world. Cassie is smart, and real, and spunky to boot. Than is a little cocky, but he grows on you. Whitney is a riot, and I adore her just as much as Cassie and Than.
Fans of the Night Human world, of McMichael, definitely worth the read. Fans of paranormal/urban fantasy, a great introduction to the world and the author. I imagine that fans of Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson series, Cate Tiernan’s Birthright, Zoe Winters’ Preturnaturals, Cassandra Clare, and Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress universe would especially appreciate The Witchling Apprentice. I know, as a fan of all of the above and B. Kristin McMichael, that I loved it and am looking forward to the next installment. (I may like Cassie more than I do Arianna, and I loved her).
Title: Beyond the Cage
Author: Alana Sapphire
Genre: Erotic Romance
Release Date: March 22, 2016
MMA champ, Cameron ‘K.O.’ Jackson, is the embodiment of every woman’s dream man. He’s smart, tall, dark, and handsome, with a bad boy twist. The only problem is, this Prince Charming doesn’t talk. That’s right. He acknowledges he can, he just…doesn’t.
The night I met him, his beauty turned my brain to mush. Then, he kissed me, and my world tilted on its axis. He was a distraction, something I didn’t need being twenty-two years old and pre-med. Besides, I had no business even thinking about a violent MMA fighter, so I walked away with no intention of seeing him again. Apparently, he had other plans.
He tracked me down, and I brushed all my objections aside, diving head first into a relationship because he intrigued me. As I get to know him, I learn he’s not the psychotic killer I thought he was, but the more I’m with him, it seems the less I know. He’s a conundrum – scary fighter and gentle giant; public figure, private man. Mystery surrounds him and no one is more curious than I am. Well, you know the saying – ‘curiosity killed the cat’. Cameron’s world is dangerous, and I’m about to learn firsthand. When it breaks down my door, will he be able to save me?
I watch him move across the room, my mouth gaping. Shit. Using the back of my hand, I check the corners of my lips for drool. Okay, I’m good. His body is simply…divine. My eyes rove over his protruding pectorals and down to the perfectly formed ridges of his abs. The desire to run my tongue in the grooves of his V-line boils inside me. He turns away, and I watch the muscles play in his back as he moves. Lying on my stomach, I place my palms on either side of my face and observe him. Every movement is like a touch to my most sensitive parts; that’s how strong his effect on me is. How can putting on deodorant be sexy? I don’t know, but the way he does it…
Our eyes meet and he gives me that knowing smile of his.
“I think I’m obsessed with your body.”
The smile turns into a smirk and he sticks his finger into the towel, letting it fall to the floor.
Fuck. Me. The perfection continues. He’s not aroused at all but still totally impressive. My breath catches and my pussy twitches. As he moves, his dick swings between his powerful thighs. Yeah, I have to check for drool again.
